And what little money we did make went the day after that hot street fair, well High Jinks is now the owner of not one but two large job site battery powered misting fans. Poor Lauri, one of our great crew was just ill from the heat, along with many vendors. One drink vendor told us her plastic cups melted in the heat, Yikes. Water is precious in our community and state but I am hoping some one, perhaps the Yuba Water Agency will sponsor a misting tent to keep folks safe. Certainly with all the water use by farmers this agriculture based festivals might see one step up and provide a safe place for old people and babies to seek refuge from the heat. Even sun shade sails could be welcome relief

on the hot street.
Hating to hear parents having to decide between peach ice cream of face art
in these this inflated economy we intentionally kept out prices insanely low. So many parents thanked us for doing just that. They know that the $5 face art we provided is easily $12-15 at other community fairs. Our goal was simply to make it easy as temperatures reached 120 degrees on the asphalt on D Street. We made very little money (which is why vendors do events) but our hearts were full.

It has always been hot at this event, I recall High Jinks there in 2003 and feeling the effects of the summer sun. That was the year we began to offer airbrush tattoos as a means to beat the summer heat. They continues in 2022 to be very popular at the Marysville Peach Festival as a cool and fun way to celebrate summer.
Join us there again, we promise to advocate for more shade and safe harbor form the sun. We will provide our guest with a bit of cool mist along with colorful tattoos and face painting.
And yes, Sodaro's Orchards peaches as all the peaches were delicious.
